Mackenzie Bernhardt
Medical Student
Mackenzie Bernhardt is a medical student in the University of Washington School of Medicine’s WWAMI program and a member of the Targeted Rural Underserved Track (TRUST). She is excited to return to Helena as part of the WRITE (WWAMI Rural Integrated Training Experience) program and looks forward to
continuing to learn from and serve the Helena community. Mackenzie grew up on a ranch in Park City, Montana with her parents and four siblings. Growing up in a rural community fostered a deep appreciation for the relationships and resilience found in small towns and helped shape her commitment to serving rural and underserved populations. She is particularly interested in internal medicine, hematology/oncology, and otolaryngology.
Outside of medicine, Mackenzie enjoys reading, painting, watching quirky documentaries, and spending time outdoors backpacking and hiking throughout Montana and the Pacific Northwest. Mackenzie is grateful to train in a program that prioritizes community connection and rural health. She looks forward to building
relationships in Helena and hopes to contribute meaningfully to the health of the community while learning from the people who call it home.
